Spring has sprung
Spring arrived a little earlier than usual here in the Central West of NSW. This gives us a false sense of security in our garden. Beware, though, we may still get frosts and snow! Planning is the key now rather than springing into action with planting.
Spring gardening activity is best focused on preparing over the next few weeks. Digging in some well-rotted compost, liquid feeding your bulbs fortnightly, checking your watering systems and tidying up, weeding and pruning can be done now.
You can plant deciduous or ornamental trees now and into mid spring for best results. Buying bare rooted trees (ie unpotted) will save you money this spring.
